Ultegra R8100 — Pro Performance, Accessible Price

The R8100 series Ultegra Di2 inherits the architecture of Dura-Ace R9200 and delivers it at a more accessible price point. The RD-R8150 acts as the system hub, communicating wirelessly with Shimano Di2 dual control levers (ST-R8150 or ST-R8170) and relaying data to compatible Garmin, Wahoo, and other ANT+/Bluetooth head units. The EW-SD300 port allows wired connection to the BT-DN300 internal battery when semi-wireless operation is preferred.

Shadow RD Technology

The Shadow RD mechanism keeps the derailleur cage tucked close to the sprockets with a super-low profile that reduces the risk of cage strikes on chainstays and trail debris. The result is smoother, quieter performance even when the road gets rough. The cage geometry is optimised for rapid chain pickup and eliminates the need for a clutch mechanism in road use.

Compatible dual control levers include ST-R8150, ST-R8170, ST-R9250, and ST-R9270. Requires a BT-DN300 Di2 battery and EW-EC300 charger (sold separately). Not compatible with mechanical or previous-generation Di2 components.
