Design & Construction

The ST-4720-L uses a resin and steel lever body with a 23.8–24.2 mm clamp band diameter, fitting standard road drop bars. The hydraulic hose exits cleanly through the hood, and the system arrives pre-filled with Shimano Mineral Oil — meaning no bleed is required unless the hose is cut to length. The straight hose joint accepts SM-BH90-J-SSR or SM-BH90-JK-SSR hose kits.

Compatibility & Fit

The ST-4720-L is compatible with Shimano Tiagra 4700-series components. It is a 2x10-speed left lever for front shifting and hydraulic disc braking. The recommended brake calliper is the Shimano BR-4770 flat-mount hydraulic disc calliper.
