Tiagra 4700 Series

The 4700 series represents Shimano's complete redesign of the Tiagra groupset, borrowing shifting technology from higher-tier Shimano road groups. The ST-4700 levers feature a narrower lever body profile and revised ergonomics compared to previous Tiagra generations, making them an excellent choice for riders upgrading from older 9 or 10-speed equipment or building a capable road bike on a sensible budget.

Compatibility & Fit

Designed exclusively for the Tiagra 4700 series drivetrain — 4700-compatible components only. Compatible rear derailleurs: RD-4700-SS / RD-4700-GS / RD-RX400. Compatible front derailleurs: FD-4700. Compatible cranks: FC-4700, FC-R460, FC-RS400 (2x10). Handlebar clamp diameter: 23.8–24.2 mm (standard drop bar). For 3x10-speed builds, see the ST-4703 variant. Not compatible with older Tiagra 4600 or other non-4700 series rear derailleurs.
