Range & Charging
At 630Wh the BT-E8016 is the maximum-capacity down tube battery for Shimano STEPS e-MTB systems. Paired with the EC-E8004 charger, you can reach 50% in around 2.5 hours and a full charge in approximately 6 hours — so the battery is ready to go again quickly between rides. The EC-E6002 charger is also compatible for standard overnight charging.
Built to Last
Shimano rates the BT-E8016 for more than 1,000 charge cycles before capacity drops below 60% — equating to many years of regular riding for most users. The impact- and vibration-resistant housing is designed to handle rough trail conditions, and the low-slung down tube position protects the battery while keeping the bike's centre of gravity where it belongs.
Compatibility & Fit
The BT-E8016 requires the BM-E8016 battery mount (sold separately) to fit to your frame's down tube — it will not fit mounts designed for earlier Shimano STEPS batteries. Compatible chargers are the EC-E8004 (recommended for fast charging) and EC-E6002. Designed for use with Shimano STEPS E8000-series e-MTB drive systems. Consult your frame manufacturer to confirm BM-E8016 mount compatibility before purchase.
Shimano provides a 2-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of original retail purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and does not extend to normal wear, damage from misuse, or improper installation. For warranty support, return the item to Tune Cycles.
