Performance & Charging
Rated at 36V and 14Ah, the BT-E6001 delivers a 504Wh energy store that powers Shimano STEPS drive units across a full day of riding. A full charge from flat takes approximately 4–4.5 hours using a compatible charger (EC-E6002 or EC-E8004); an 80% top-up can be achieved in around 2.5–3.2 hours, making it practical to recharge during a lunch break. The battery adaptor SM-BTE60 allows use with older-style charger connectors where required.
Durability & Weather Protection
Shimano's waterproof construction means the BT-E6001 handles rain, spray and wet conditions without concern. The battery is rated for a minimum of 1,000 full charge cycles — after which it retains more than 300Wh (60%) of its original capacity — giving it a usable lifespan that matches years of daily commuting or recreational riding. A built-in charge level indicator lets you check remaining range at a glance, while the integrated error signal alerts you to any system fault before it becomes a problem.
Compatibility & Fit
The BT-E6001 mounts to a rear pannier carrier using the Shimano BM-E6000 battery mount (sold separately). It is designed for use within the Shimano STEPS e-bike system and is compatible with EC-E6002 and EC-E8004 chargers.
