Effortless internal gearing
Three evenly spaced gears give you a 186% range, from a low ratio for pulling away at the lights to a taller gear for holding speed. Because the gears live inside the hub, you can change gear while stopped, so you are always in the right ratio when the light turns green.
Built for disc brakes
The Centre Lock interface lets you fit a Centre Lock rotor with a splined mount and lock ring, making rotor installation and removal quick and secure. The disc rotor is not included.
Clean and low maintenance
Sealing the drivetrain inside the hub shell protects it from the elements and means there is no exposed cassette or derailleur to adjust, clean or replace, an ideal match for daily commuting.
Compatibility & fit
Designed for rear wheels with 135 mm over-locknut spacing and a solid (bolt-on) axle measuring 192.6 mm. The hub ships with a 19T sprocket, push rod, hub nuts, dust cap and non-turn washer. A compatible Nexus 3-speed shifter and the corresponding shifting unit are required to operate the hub and are sold separately. The Centre Lock disc rotor is also sold separately.
This Shimano Nexus SG-3D55 hub is covered by Shimano's manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, improper installation or servicing, or damage caused by use outside the product's intended commuter and urban application (the hub is not designed for off-road use).
