The Shimano PD-EH500 gives you a clipless SPD mechanism on one side and a grippy flat platform on the other, so you can ride clipped in for efficiency or hop on in everyday shoes without changing pedals. SPD side

The clip-in face uses Shimano's SPD mechanism with light-action engagement and adjustable release tension, so you can dial the feel to your confidence level. The supplied SM-SH56 multi-release cleats let you twist out in any direction, which makes learning to clip in and out more forgiving.

Flat side

Flip to the platform face and the pedal works with ordinary shoes. Eight threaded traction pins bite into the sole for stable, secure pedalling, including in wet conditions, so short trips and around-town errands do not need cycling shoes.

Build and maintenance

A chromoly axle runs on a sealed cartridge bearing unit inside an aluminium body, keeping the spin smooth and the upkeep minimal over the long term.

Compatibility & fit

The SPD side is compatible with all two-bolt SPD cleats and SPD-compatible shoes; SM-SH56 multi-release cleats are included in the box. The flat side suits any everyday footwear. Axle thread is the standard 9/16 inch x 20 TPI, fitting virtually all modern cranks.
