Shimano Dura-Ace ST-R9160 Di2 TT/Triathlon Dual Control Lever – Left
ISTR9160L
SKU code: SHM-ISTR9160L
Sold Out
Built for the demands of time trial and triathlon racing, the Shimano Dura-Ace ST-R9160 Di2 left lever brings flagship-level electronic shifting and aerodynamic braking control to your aerobar cockpit. Sold as the left-hand unit, it pairs brake actuation with a single-button Di2 shift switch — so you never have to leave the aero position to change gear.
Highlights
- Aerodynamic profile: Slim, low-drag form optimised for time trial and triathlon cockpits where every watt counts.
- Single-button Synchronized Shift: One button per lever works with Shimano's Synchronized Shift system — the Di2 computer coordinates front and rear derailleurs automatically for smooth, optimal gear selection.
- Multi-shift function: Hold the button to execute multiple sequential gear changes in one motion; configurable per switch via E-Tube Project software.
- Carbon construction: Carbon fibre lever blade and carbon composite bracket body for a stiff, lightweight feel without sacrificing control.
- Internal cable routing: Integrated E-TUBE cable management and internal brake cable routing keep the cockpit clean and aerodynamic.
- Adjustable reach: Brake lever reach can be fine-tuned to suit different hand sizes and riding positions.
- E-Tube compatible: SD50 port for Di2 wiring; compatible with EW-RS910 and EW-JC130 junction units. Programmable via Shimano E-Tube Project app.
Construction & Feel
The ST-R9160 is engineered from the same carbon-composite material palette as the rest of the Dura-Ace R9150 Di2 groupset. The alloy expanding wedge clamp secures firmly to aerobar extensions across a wide range of internal diameters, while the switch button is positioned inside the lever so your hand never has to shift position to actuate it. Grip feel is maintained under load, and the lever is optimised to work with Shimano Super SLR rim brake callipers for precise, progressive stopping power.
Di2 Electronics & Programming
The ST-R9160 requires a wired connection to the Di2 battery (BT-DN300 recommended) — it does not operate wirelessly. Both shift assignments are fully programmable in Shimano E-Tube Project: set either button to shift easier or harder, enable or disable multi-shift, and pair with compatible SW-R9160 bar-end remote shifters for additional control positions. Firmware 3.3.0 or newer enables 12-speed Di2 compatibility.
Compatibility & Fit
Designed for 2x11-speed Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 (R9150 series) rim brake drivetrains. Firmware update to v3.3.0+ enables 12-speed Di2 compatibility. Bar-end clamp fits internal diameters of 19.0–22.5 mm (standard aerobar/TT bar extensions). Rim brake only — not compatible with hydraulic or mechanical disc systems. Works with Shimano Super SLR brake callipers. One SD50 port for E-TUBE wiring. This listing is for the left lever only.
