Semi-Wireless Di2 System

The R9200-series Dura-Ace adopts a semi-wireless architecture that dramatically simplifies cockpit cable routing. The ST-R9270 STI levers run on CR1632 coin cells (approximately 1.5–2 years of life) and communicate wirelessly with the RD-R9250 rear derailleur, which in turn is wired via SD300 e-Tube cable to the FD-R9250 front derailleur and the BT-DN300 battery. The rear derailleur also serves as the system charging point and ANT+ gateway for head unit connectivity.

Braking Performance

The BR-R9270 hydraulic disc calipers feature Shimano's ServoWave lever technology, which delivers strong initial bite with progressive, controllable modulation through the lever stroke. The included RT-CL900 Ice Tech FREEZA rotors use a three-layer aluminium-and-steel construction to actively dissipate heat, keeping brake fluid temperatures stable on long descents. Rotors mount via Centre Lock interface.

Drivetrain

The CS-R9200 cassette and 12-speed chain use Hyperglide+ tooth profiles to enable reliable, near-silent shifts even under pedalling load — a critical advantage in race situations. The FD-R9250 front derailleur weighs just 99 g and responds with precision across double chainring combinations, while the RD-R9250 supports the full cassette range from 11-28T to 11-34T in a single cage length, adding versatility without weight penalty.

Compatibility & Fit

This groupset excludes cranks and bottom bracket — add your preferred crankset separately. The FD-R9250 front derailleur uses a braze-on mount and supports standard road double chainring combinations. The RD-R9250 is compatible with 11-28T to 11-34T cassettes. Rotors are Centre Lock fitting. Di2 wiring (SD300 e-Tube cables) and bottom bracket are not included and must be sourced separately. A BT-DN300 internal seatpost battery and EW-EC300 USB-A charging cable are included.
