Sold Out
The Shimano Dura-Ace HB-7710-R is a top-tier rear track hub built for velodrome racing and fixed-gear riding. Crafted to Shimano's highest engineering standards, it features NJS approval in 36-hole configuration, a double-threaded body to accept both fixed and freewheel sprockets, and Dura-Ace-grade internals that deliver silky smooth rolling under load.
Highlights
- NJS Approved: Certified by the Nihon Jitensha Shinkokai for Japanese keirin racing — the definitive quality mark for track components.
- Double-Threaded Shell: Accommodates a fixed sprocket on one side and a freewheel on the other, giving you versatility in training and racing setups.
- Borozon-Treated Bearing Races: Shimano's advanced surface hardening process on the cup-and-cone races delivers exceptional durability and low rolling resistance.
- Stainless Steel Ball Bearings: Precision stainless balls resist corrosion and maintain smooth operation over thousands of track sessions.
- Chromed Steel Axle: A solid 10mm chromed steel axle with flanged track nuts provides the rigidity and reliability demanded by competitive track use.
- Low Flange Design: The low flange profile reduces weight while maintaining a wide range of lacing options for different wheel-building geometries.
Construction & Quality
The HB-7710-R body is machined to tight tolerances with a polished finish. The cup-and-cone bearing system is fully serviceable, allowing precise bearing adjustment and straightforward maintenance — critical for riders who want to keep their wheels performing at their peak over a long service life. The solid chromed axle is retained by flanged axle nuts suited to track dropouts.
Compatibility & Fit
Designed for standard track frames with 120mm rear spacing. The axle is 10mm in diameter (threaded for track nuts) with an overall axle length of 164mm. The hub shell is double-threaded on the drive side to accept a standard 1/8" fixed-gear sprocket and lockring, with an opposing freewheel thread on the non-drive side. 36-hole drilling is compatible with the vast majority of 36H track rims. Not compatible with cassette freehub systems — for track use only.
