Construction

The FC-M8120-1 uses Shimano's Hollowtech II technology — a hollow-forged crank arm design that achieves an optimal balance between rigidity, strength, and weight. The 24mm steel spindle is integrated into the right crank arm, interfacing with outboard Hollowtech II bottom bracket bearings. The crankset ships without a chainring or bottom bracket; these must be purchased separately to suit your frame's shell standard.

This crankset is designed for 12-speed 1x drivetrains with Boost 148 rear hub spacing. Chain line: 55mm. Q-factor: 178mm. Compatible bottom brackets: BB-MT800 (threaded, 68/73mm shell) or BB-MT800-PA (PF30/pressfit). Accepts Shimano Direct Mount chainrings only — standard BCD chainrings are not compatible. Crank arm length: 170mm. Installation requires the Shimano TL-FC41 crankset tool (not included).
