The Shimano CUES BR-U8000 is a lightweight 2-piston hydraulic disc brake caliper built for confident, controlled stopping on trail, gravel, commuter and e-bike builds. Reliable, lightweight stopping power
A 2-piston aluminium caliper body with heat-resistant ceramic pistons delivers consistent braking while keeping weight low. It is well suited to cross-country, gravel, urban and e-bike use where you want strong, repeatable performance without unnecessary bulk.
Easy to set up and service
The banjo-type hose connection supports internal routing for a clean cockpit, and Shimano's One Way Bleeding system simplifies bleeding using Shimano mineral oil. The caliper ships ready to fit with mounting bolts, banjo bolt, pad retaining bolt and snap ring.
Latest-generation resin pads
This caliper is supplied with Shimano's G05A-RX resin pads (narrow type G, without cooling fin) for 2-piston calipers. The 5th-generation resin material runs quietly with strong modulation and offers around 50% better wear resistance than G03A and 110% better than G02A.
Compatibility & fit
Post mount caliper for hydraulic disc brake systems using Shimano mineral oil. Compatible rotor sizes are 140mm, 160mm, 180mm, 203mm and 220mm. Connects via a banjo joint and accepts G05A-RX resin pads as standard, with G04S metal and other compatible 2-piston narrow pads available as alternatives. Fits front or rear. In Australian setups the left lever typically operates the rear brake and the right lever the front, though caliper fitment is the same at either wheel.
