Scope's current Race Series wheels hide their nipples inside the rim. This is the genuine Sapim internal nipple Scope specifies for those wheels, for replacing a damaged or rounded nipple during a rebuild or spoke repair.

Highlights

• Genuine Scope spare part (Sapim internal nipple)
• Specified by Scope for R4, R4.A, R4.G, R6, R6.A and R8.T with internal nipples
• Pairs with Sapim CX-Ray oval head straight-pull spokes
• Adjusted with a 5.5 mm internal nipple key

Check your generation first

Scope's Race Series comes in two generations. Look at where the spokes meet the rim: if you can see the nipples, your wheels use external nipples and need a different part. If the nipples are hidden inside the rim, this is the right one.

Working on internal nipples

Scope's truing method is to remove the tyre and rim tape, hold a spoke key made for 1.1 mm thick spokes near the rim, and turn the nipple with a 5.5 mm internal nipple key. Scope sets drive-side spoke tension at 120 kgf.

Compatibility & fit

Fits Scope R-Series wheels with internal spoke nipples (model year 2025): R4, R4.A, R4.G, R6, R6.A and R8.T. Not for earlier R-Series wheels with external nipples, which use Sapim alloy hex nipples. Scope lists 45 of these nipples per wheelset. Spoke replacement is a separate Tune Cycles workshop service and is not included.
