The XT M8000 long-cage derailleur is the workhorse of the range: race-level shifting accuracy at a price that makes sense for a bike you ride every week. Shadow RD+ chain stabilisation keeps the cage from bouncing on rough ground, which means less chain slap and fewer dropped chains.

Shadow RD+
The switchable stabiliser adds friction to the cage movement, damping the chain over repeated hits. Flick it off when you need to remove the wheel, back on for the descent.
Compatibility and fit
For 11-speed Shimano mountain bike drivetrains. The long SGS cage suits wide-range 11-speed cassettes, and the derailleur can be fitted with a direct mount hanger as well as a standard one. Check your cassette's largest sprocket against the derailleur's capacity before fitting, or send us the part codes and we will confirm it.
