Why a master link?

A master link makes chain maintenance considerably easier. Chain cleaning, wax dipping, and replacement all require the chain to come off the bike — with a PowerLink that's a few seconds rather than a chain-tool exercise. Used and re-used, the link maintains its clamping strength and is designed to be reopened and closed multiple times.
