The Minion DHR II tread

The Minion DHR II takes the Minion DHF's side knobs and widens them for more cornering support. Ramped centre knobs help it accelerate, sipes smooth the transition as you lean over, and paddle-like centre knobs dig in under hard braking. Maxxis recommends it for the rear, with a Minion DHF up front.

MaxxTerra and DoubleDown

It uses Maxxis's new MaxxTerra rubber, rated best for mixed conditions. Maxxis claims 30% more durability and 15% more traction for the new formulation, with no loss in rolling efficiency. DoubleDown is Maxxis's enduro casing, with two 120 TPI plies for support and protection on rough, fast terrain.

Compatibility & fit

Fits 27.5-inch rims (ETRTO 61-584). Maxxis says its 2.40" and 2.50" Minion DHR II sizes are optimised for 30–35 mm inner width rims. It is tubeless ready, so you can run it tubeless with sealant on a tubeless-ready rim and valve, or fit a tube. Check frame and fork clearance first.
