The Minion DHF tread

The Minion DHF tread balances rolling speed against braking and cornering grip, which is why it is one of the most imitated tread patterns in mountain biking. Maxxis makes it in trail, enduro and downhill specs and recommends it for the front wheel, where predictable cornering counts most.

MaxxTerra and EXO+

It uses Maxxis's new MaxxTerra rubber, rated best for mixed conditions. Maxxis claims 30% more durability and 15% more traction for the new formulation, with no loss in rolling efficiency. EXO+ is the casing Maxxis recommends for heavy-duty trail use, a step up in protection from standard EXO.

Compatibility & fit

Fits 27.5-inch rims (ETRTO 63-584). Maxxis says its 2.50" Minion DHF sizes are optimised for rims with a 30–35 mm internal width. It is tubeless ready, so you can run it tubeless with sealant on a tubeless-ready rim and valve, or fit a tube. Check frame and fork clearance first.
