The 2025 Dissector keeps Troy Brosnan's fast-rolling signature tread and adds bigger, more stable side knobs for hard, rocky terrain. This 29 x 2.40 version combines 3C MaxxGrip rubber with the DoubleDown casing on a tubeless-ready foldable bead.

About the Dissector

Its redesigned side knobs have a larger footprint. The centre keeps the fast 2-3-2 layout but splits the middle knobs for better braking and terrain conformity, while the transition knobs sit further out for a smoother lean. Run it up front on a 130–140 mm trail bike, or as a fast rear on a 150 mm-plus bike in dry conditions.

3C MaxxGrip rubber and DoubleDown casing

3C MaxxGrip is Maxxis's stickiest, slowest-rebounding mountain bike rubber, as used by its World Cup downhill and enduro racers, and it's at its best in soft, wet conditions. DoubleDown layers two 120 TPI plies with a butyl insert for enduro support and more trail feel than a DH casing; Maxxis recommends it for most e-MTBs.

Compatibility & fit

Fits 29-inch rims (ETRTO 61-622); Maxxis lists a 21–35 mm internal rim width. Maximum pressure is 50 psi. Check frame and fork clearance for a 2.40-inch tyre. Fitting isn't included; our workshop can mount it and set it up tubeless.
