Downhill hammers hubs harder than anything else on the bike. Hope's Pro 5 DH rear hub is built for exactly that: a steel freehub, six pawls that all engage at once and a stiffer axle, set up here for 157x12 downhill frames.

Built for downhill

Where the standard Pro 5 chases fast engagement, the DH version prioritises strength: all six pawls share the load at the same time, and the steel freehub body resists damage from hard, repeated torque. Hope specifies the DH hub for 7-speed downhill cassettes, with an XD freehub for single-piece cassettes or an HG freehub for multi-piece cassettes.

Serviceable for years

Like every Hope hub, the Pro 5 DH strips down with simple tools, and its end spacers can be swapped to suit different frame and axle standards. It is a 6-bolt disc hub, drilled 32 hole.

Compatibility & fit

Suits frames with 157x12 rear spacing and a 6-bolt rotor. Choose the freehub to match your DH cassette. Wheel building is a separate Tune Cycles workshop service – book a workshop appointment.

Hope covers its components for two years from the original date of purchase against manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship. Damage caused by misuse, or by not following the recommendations in the manual, is not covered. For warranty support, return the item to Tune Cycles with your proof of purchase and we'll manage the claim for you. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
