Fine-tune your bar height in steps as small as 2mm. The Descend kit gives you one spacer of each common size in a single colour, so you can set stack height precisely and finish the cockpit to match.

Highlights

• Five spacers: 2, 3, 5, 10 and 15mm
• 35mm when all are stacked
• Machined from lightweight alloy
• Fits the 1-1/8in upper steerer on straight and tapered forks
• Nine colours

Setting bar height

Decide the bar height you want, then measure the gap the spacers need to fill, from the top of the headset cup to the underside of the stem. Mix sizes to suit: 2 + 3 gives 5mm, 3 + 5 gives 8mm, 15 + 5 gives 20mm. Leave the steerer finishing 3 to 5mm below the top of the stem so the top cap can preload the bearings.

Spacers you are not using

If your fork is already cut to length, keep the spare sizes for your next stem or headset change. If it is still uncut, stack the leftovers above the stem while you settle on a position, because cutting the steerer is the one step you cannot undo. Spacers can only fill steerer that exists; if your fork was cut short, a riser bar or a stem with rise is the way up.

Compatibility & fit

• 1-1/8in (28.6mm) upper steerer, on both straight and tapered forks
• Not for older or specialist forks with an oversized upper steerer

Our workshop can set your bar height, cut the steerer and adjust the headset as a separate service.
