What S.H.I.S. means

S.H.I.S. (Standardized Headset Identification System) is the industry code that states a headset's fit in one line: the letters give the cup type (ZS zero-stack, EC external cup, IS integrated), the first number is the head tube bore it presses into in mm, and the number after the slash is the steerer or crown race diameter the bearing takes. This headset is IS42/28.6 on top and IS52/40 on the bottom.

Compatibility & fit

Fits a 42mm integrated top head tube bore and a 52mm integrated bottom bore, tapered 1-1/8in to 1.5in steerer. The low-stack top cover is the point of this headset – it suits a rider who wants the stem as low as possible or whose fork steerer has already been cut short. Check your frame's own S.H.I.S. marking before ordering, or ask Tune's workshop to measure it and press the headset as part of a fork or frame build.
