The Transfer SL is Fox's lightweight dropper for XC, trail and gravel: a two-position post with mechanical internals, up to 167 grams (roughly 25%) lighter than the Transfer. The Factory version adds a genuine Kashima Coat upper post and titanium hardware that saves another 10 grams.

Highlights

  • Two positions: fully extended for pedalling or fully dropped for the descents
  • Mechanical internals with no hydraulics or internal seals
  • Up to 167g lighter than the Transfer
  • Titanium hardware on Factory posts saves a further 10g
  • Genuine Kashima Coat upper post
  • 50–150mm drop across 27.2mm, 30.9mm and 31.6mm diameters

Light, simple and robust

Transfer SL's mechanical internals have no hydraulics or internal seals to look after, which keeps weight down and makes the post very robust. Fox's service schedule is a full service every 125 hours of riding or once a year, whichever comes first.

Why two positions?

Endurance riders mostly want the saddle either at full height for efficient pedalling or all the way down for a technical section. Building the SL around two positions let Fox cut weight substantially. Press and hold the lever, use your body to push the saddle down or guide it back up, and release the lever once the post reaches the other position. If you want more than 150mm of drop, the standard Transfer is the better choice.

Compatibility & fit

The lever isn't included. Fox recommends its 1x dropper lever for flat bars and its drop-bar dropper lever for drop bars; Fox's owner's guide also covers compatible levers such as Shimano GRX. The cable attaches at the base of the post, so your frame needs internal dropper routing. Choose the diameter that matches your frame's seat tube and check the extended length and insertion range in the table against your frame.

Fitting, including routing the cable and housing through the frame, is a separate workshop service. Tune Cycles is an authorised Fox service centre, so we can look after the Transfer SL's 125-hour service too.
