Flowerpower Wax lays down a solid layer of wax between the moving parts of your chain, cutting friction and noise and extending chain life. It stays clean, resists dirt and water, and uses natural waxes rather than fluorinated additives.

First application

Wax emulsions need a completely clean chain the first time. Degrease the chain on the bike (Effetto suggests Allpine Extra and its Mangiacatena chain cleaner), rinse and dry it. Shake the bottle, put one drop on every link, turn the cranks at least 10 times and leave it 2–3 hours. Repeat once more, wait again, then wipe off any excess.

Top-ups

When the chain starts to get noisy, wipe it with a dry cloth and add a drop per link; no degreasing needed. After mud or sand, degrease and start again. A full lube uses about 4ml, so a 100ml bottle gives around 25 applications. Off-road riding may need more frequent top-ups.

Compatibility & fit

Suits any bicycle chain, from single speed to 12- and 13-speed. Store and apply between 5 and 35°C. If it thickens in hot weather, add a little water and shake. Contains a methylisothiazolinone/chloromethylisothiazolinone mix, which may produce an allergic reaction. Chain cleaning and lubrication are available as a separate Tune Cycles workshop service.
