A clean rim is the starting point for a safe tubular job. Carogna Remover dissolves old mastic from carbon and aluminium rims so it wipes away, ready for fresh glue or Carogna tubular tape.

Highlights

• Dissolves solid tubular mastic from carbon or aluminium rims
• High viscosity: stays put on the rim bed without dripping
• No smell, so it is fine to use indoors
• No dangerous or flammable chemicals, benign to metal and carbon fibre
• Enough for roughly 4 to 8 wheels per tube, depending on how much you use

How to use it

Brush a thick layer, around 1mm, over the old mastic. Leave it 2 to 12 hours depending on mastic type, thickness and age, checking from time to time with a cloth or plastic tyre lever. Once the mastic has softened, lift it off. If you wait too long it can re-harden; just apply another coat and start again.

Built for the workshop

Unlike fast-evaporating solvents, Carogna Remover has no smell, so you don't need to open doors and windows or work outside.

Compatibility & fit

For carbon or aluminium tubular rims. Do not apply it to the tubular tyre or its base tape, as it may weaken the base-tape bond. Wipe any excess off rim decals immediately. Store between 0°C and 40°C in a dry place out of direct sunlight. Causes serious eye irritation: wear gloves and eye protection. Tubular gluing is a separate Tune Cycles workshop service, not included.
