The long version of Shimano's polymer-coated shift inner. At 2500 mm it covers cable runs where a 2100 mm inner falls short, such as long frames or routing that winds through the frame.

Why the coating matters on long runs

The longer the cable, the more friction it collects on the way to the derailleur. The polymer coating lowers sliding resistance for a lighter, quicker shift. After the initial pre-stretch it can slip at the fixing bolt, so re-check tension and bolt torque, and expect a harmless fuzz as the coating wears in.

Covered by Shimano's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Inner cables are wear items: fraying, stretch and corrosion in service are not covered. This cover is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
