DT Swiss XR 421 XC MTB Rim 29" 28H

The DT Swiss XR 421 is DT's aluminium cross-country rim and the replacement for the XR 391, now 30 mm wide inside (the XR 391 was 25 mm) so modern XC tyres up to 2.7" sit with more support. A lightweight, flatter asymmetric profile keeps spoke tension even, lap after lap.

Construction
A welded aluminium rim with a non-eyelet PHR (Pro Head Reinforcement) spoke bed: the supplied washer under each nipple spreads the load across the rim bed without eyelets. Hooked, tubeless-ready (TC) bead, Presta valve hole, disc brake only. 30 mm internal, 35 mm external, 20 mm deep.
Compatibility & fit
This is the 29" (622 mm), 28-hole version: 548 g, ERD 604 mm (DT's figures). DT makes the XR 421 in 29" 28H only. Set it up tubeless with 32 mm tape and a Presta valve. Build it with the supplied nipples and PHR washers; the maximum spoke tension is 1200 N. A front or rear wheel takes the same rim. Want it built? DT Swiss covers this rim with a 24-month warranty against material and manufacturing defects from the date of purchase. Wear, crash damage and incorrect building are not covered, and riding outside the rim's ASTM category voids it. DT's Fair-Share crash replacement applies to carbon rims only.
