What S.H.I.S. means: S.H.I.S. (Standard Headset Internal Sizing) is Cane Creek's own code for headset bearing fit. The number after the letters is the bearing's outside diameter in millimetres; the number after the slash is what sits inside it — the steerer tube on an upper cup, or the steerer/crown race on a lower cup. Match your frame's own S.H.I.S. code exactly; a close but different size will not seat.

Compatibility & fit

Upper cup: IS42/28.6, an integrated bearing with a 28.6mm (1-1/8in) stem clamp. Lower cup: IS52/40, an integrated bearing sized for a tapered steerer (1-1/8in at the stem, 1.5in at the crown).
