The Hellbender 70 Lite is Cane Creek's weight-saving version of its workshop headset, using hybrid aluminium/steel bearings and a lighter preload assembly without giving up the sealed, serviceable design of the standard Hellbender 70.

What S.H.I.S. means: S.H.I.S. (Standard Headset Internal Sizing) is Cane Creek's own code for headset bearing fit. The number after the letters is the bearing's outside diameter in millimetres; the number after the slash is what sits inside it — the steerer tube on an upper cup, or the steerer/crown race on a lower cup. Match your frame's own S.H.I.S. code exactly; a close but different size will not seat.

Compatibility & fit

Upper cup: IS42/28.6, a 42mm integrated bearing with a 28.6mm (1-1/8in) stem clamp — not interchangeable with IS41 despite the close size. Lower cup: IS47/33, a 47mm integrated bearing over a 33mm bore — a straight (non-tapered) 1-1/8in steerer the full length of the fork.
