A two-bolt titanium stem from 5DEV's Custom Shop in San Diego. The one-piece clamp slides onto a riser bar without the fuss of a four-bolt faceplate, and the short 32 mm length puts the bar right over the headset to make the most of a modern slack head angle.

The two-bolt clamp
5DEV calls the design VRTS (Variable Radius Geometry). Instead of a removable faceplate, the bar sits in a one-piece clamp closed by two bolts, and 5DEV says it goes on a riser bar without scratches and more easily than a four-bolt stem. Each stem is machined by a trained technician in 5DEV's Custom Shop.

Compatibility & fit
Bar: 35 mm clamp. The black 31.8 mm aluminium shims in the box let you run a 31.8 mm bar.
Steerer and rise: 5DEV doesn't publish the steerer clamp size or the rise, so ask us to confirm fit for your fork before ordering.
Fitting: 5DEV's instructions call for anti-seize on the bolts, never titanium bolts, tightening evenly and a torque of 5 Nm. The Tune Cycles workshop can fit the stem and set your bar and headset preload as a separate workshop service.
5DEV backs its products with a limited 5-year warranty from the date of manufacture, against defects in materials and workmanship. If 5DEV confirms a defect, it replaces the affected part with a comparable model. Talk to us before replacing anything: 5DEV voids the warranty if a part from another maker is fitted in place of the 5DEV component.
