Brake and dropper in one lever

Apex 1 is a 1x mechanical (DoubleTap) groupset, so the left lever does no shifting. SRAM uses that space for a dropper remote instead: a paddle behind the brake lever actuates a mechanically cabled dropper post, letting you drop or raise the saddle from the hoods or the drops while keeping both hands on the bar.

Proven HydroR stopping power

The forged aluminium caliper runs SRAM's HydroR system on DOT 5.1 fluid with steel-backed organic pads for consistent, controlled modulation on road and gravel. Lever reach is tool-adjustable to suit your hands. SRAM recommends a 160mm rotor for most riding, with 140mm for closed-course cyclocross.

Compatibility and fit

Designed for frames and forks with a Flat Mount 20mm offset caliper interface. Intended as the left-side unit of a SRAM Apex 1 mechanical (DoubleTap) 1x drivetrain, paired with the right-hand shift-brake lever. Requires a cable-actuated (mechanical) dropper post. Rotor and dropper post are sold separately. The 950mm hose suits the shorter front routing run; choose the 2000mm version for the longer rear run.
