Cargo-Ready Performance
The CRG variant shares all the hardware of the standard DU-EP801 but adds specially tuned cargo assist firmware that smooths out power delivery under heavier loads — reducing rider fatigue on school runs, commutes, and shopping trips. The midship mounting position keeps weight centred low in the frame, improving stability whether carrying a child seat, panniers, or a front cargo box.
Connectivity & Smart Features
Three SD300 ports, a dedicated speed sensor port, a 12 V / 2.0 A accessory power output, and a CAN bus port allow extensive system integration. The drive unit works seamlessly with Shimano Di2 rear derailleurs for automatic shifting, and pairs with the E-TUBE app for riding characteristic adjustments, diagnostic checks, and firmware updates. Compatible with Shimano Di2 8-speed and 5-speed INTER-5E internal geared hubs for a fully electronic drivetrain on your cargo bike.
Compatibility & Fit
Designed for cargo e-bikes using a 24 mm narrow-spline bottom bracket interface. Compatible with disc brakes only. Suitable for wheel sizes from 1,300 mm to 3,000 mm (rim circumference). Requires a Shimano STEPS-compatible battery and display (sold separately). Confirm frame compatibility with your bike manufacturer before ordering.
