Sealed, all-weather braking

Because the braking surfaces sit inside a sealed, grease-lubricated drum, the BR-C3001-R is not affected by wet roads, road spray or grime the way rim and exposed disc brakes can be. The result is steady, predictable feel whether you are riding in summer heat or winter wet.

The BR-C3001-R delivers the same braking power as the proven BR-C3000 and overachieves the EN standard (100 kg gross weight) for both front and rear use, with improved performance under heavy load. The 122 mm cooling fin helps shed heat to keep braking consistent on long or loaded descents.

Compatibility & fit

This is the rear (-R) roller brake. In the Australian setup the left lever operates the rear brake, so pair this with your left brake lever. It mounts to a Shimano roller-brake-compatible rear hub (such as a Nexus internally geared hub) using the 8.2 mm washer for an M10 axle. It is operated by a standard brake cable, not hydraulic fluid. Confirm your rear hub is roller-brake compatible before fitting.

This Shimano Nexus BR-C3001-R roller brake is covered by Shimano's manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover normal wear, damage from improper installation, accident, misuse, or failure to maintain the product as specified in Shimano's instructions.
