Construction

The WH-MT601's aluminium rim measures 25mm internal / 29.7mm external width with a 20.8mm depth and an ETRTO 25-622 profile. The cartridge-bearing hub runs a steel Micro Spline freehub body with 36-point pawl engagement (10° pick-up), keeping the drivetrain responsive when re-engaging out of corners. Presta valve drilling (6.5mm) is standard, compatible with most tubeless valve kits.

Rear axle: 148x12mm Boost thru-axle (O.L.D. 148mm). Freehub: Shimano Micro Spline — suits 12-speed Deore, SLX, XT, and XTR cassettes with 10-tooth smallest cog. Brake mount: Centre Lock disc. Recommended tyre width: 29" × 2.0"–2.4". Not compatible with HG (8/9/10/11-speed) or XD cassettes without a freehub swap.
