The Shimano Alivio BR-T4000 is a dependable front linear-pull (V-brake) caliper built for flat-bar trekking, commuter and hybrid bikes. Its forged aluminium arms and 107 mm arch deliver confident, well-controlled braking with plenty of clearance for mudguards and wider tyres.

Controlled, confident stopping

The direct linear-pull mechanism converts long-pull lever travel into firm braking force, giving good power and modulation in everyday riding. Adjustable spring tension lets you balance each arm so the pads strike the rim evenly.

Built for real-world commuting

The 107 mm arch is designed with mudguard clearance in mind, and the cartridge shoe holder makes swapping worn S65T pads straightforward. The lead pipe accepts 45, 90 or 135 degree angles to suit different cable routing.

Compatibility & fit

This is a single front V-brake (linear-pull) caliper. It mounts to standard cantilever/V-brake brazed-on posts and must be paired with long-pull (V-brake) brake levers. In the Australian setup the right lever operates the front brake. Uses Shimano S65T cartridge brake shoes. Supplied with X-Type spacers; black finish.
