Scout does two jobs. Armed, it sounds an 85 dB alarm if the bike is moved and sends a notification to your iPhone when you're in Bluetooth range. If the bike isn't where you left it, Apple's Find My network helps you locate it. It bolts to the bottle cage mounts with tamper-proof screws, visibly or hidden under the cage.

Alarm and finder

Arm and disarm Scout from the Knog app while your phone is in Bluetooth range, or with the button on the side of the unit when your phone is very close (within 1.5 m) and the app is active. Dual LEDs show whether it's armed and the battery charge. Pairing must be done through the Knog app and Find My, not the iPhone's Bluetooth list.

Battery

A charge lasts up to 6 months; Knog says to expect around 2 months if you arm it daily. The app notifies you at 20% remaining. It charges by USB-C in 4 hours; the cable isn't included.

Mounting

Scout bolts to any standard bottle cage location using the supplied tamper-proof screws and security tool. For a visible deterrent (and extra protection from water and mud) fit the neon hi-viz silicone cover. For stealth, mount it under your bottle cage with the supplied spacers.

Compatibility & fit

Needs an Apple device: Knog lists iOS only (iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad). It won't work with Android phones. The bike needs a standard bottle cage mount.
