Race Face Era SL 29in Carbon Rear Wheel – 12x148mm Boost, SRAM XD, Centre Lock
SKU code: RFX-RX94400073
Not your typical XC race wheel, and not a strength-first enduro wheel: Era SL is the happy medium, built for downcountry. At 385 grams, its rim is the lightest Race Face has ever produced, so the wheel accelerates quickly and holds momentum on climbs.
Highlights
- 385g carbon rim, the lightest Race Face has made
- 29mm internal width supports tyres up to 2.6in
- 22mm rim depth keeps strength up for rough terrain
- Race Face's most laterally compliant wheel, for less rider fatigue
- Vault hub with 3-degree engagement and large-diameter bearings
- Tubeless ready, supplied taped with a valve; 5 spare spokes included
- Backed by Race Face's Lifetime Warranty, crashes included
Get racing, get rowdy
Low rotational mass lets Era SL spin up quickly and hold momentum on climbs, light enough for the weekend XC racer. A 22mm rim depth keeps strength up so you can throw a short-travel bike into the rough stuff, and the 29mm internal width suits low-pressure, high-traction tyres up to 2.6in.
Compliance in the Vault
Laced to the Vault hub (Vault 424 for 12x148mm Boost, Vault 422 for 12x157mm Super Boost), Era SL is the most laterally compliant wheel Race Face makes, smoothing out small bumps while keeping XC pedalling efficiency. Vault has 3-degree engagement and large-diameter bearings.
Ratings
Race Face rates Era SL for a 130kg system weight (rider, bike and gear) and up to 140mm of rear wheel travel. 6-bolt versions are approved for e-bikes with up to 65Nm of drive-assist torque; Centre Lock versions are not eMTB approved.
Compatibility & fit
This is a 29in rear wheel. Choose the axle that matches your frame, the freehub that matches your cassette (Shimano Microspline or SRAM XD) and the rotor mount that matches your rotor (6-bolt or Shimano Centre Lock). Centre Lock versions are 12x148mm Boost only. This is a single wheel; tyre, disc rotor and cassette aren't included. Fitting isn't included. Our Marrickville workshop can fit the wheel, set it up tubeless and move your rotor and cassette across as a separate service.
