Why preset torque matters
Many modern stems, seatposts, bars and lever clamps carry a recommended torque, often in the 4 to 6 Nm range. Tightening by feel risks either a slipping part or a damaged component. A preset torque tool gives you a repeatable, defined setting so you can tighten with confidence.
