About the Minion DHR II
Ramped centre knobs help it accelerate, sipes smooth the transition as you lean the bike, and paddle-like centre knobs dig in under hard braking. Maxxis designs it for the rear wheel, though it's popular up front too, and it pairs naturally with a Minion DHF.
MaxxTerra rubber and Downhill casing
Next-generation MaxxTerra is an all-new formulation: Maxxis claims 30% more durability and 15% more traction than the original MaxxTerra, with no loss in rolling efficiency. The Downhill casing uses two 60 TPI plies and a large butyl insert running from each bead into the sidewall, Maxxis's most durable build for downhill, bike park and long-travel e-bikes.
Compatibility & fit
Fits 29-inch rims (ETRTO 63-622); Maxxis lists a 21–35 mm internal rim width. Maximum pressure is 50 psi. Check frame and fork clearance for a 2.50-inch tyre. Fitting isn't included; our workshop can mount it and set it up tubeless.
