Built for the extra torque and weight of an e-MTB, the Hope Fortus 30 E-Bike rear wheel pairs a wide 30mm alloy rim with Hope's e-bike-specific Pro 5 hub and a steel freehub body – machine built and hand finished in Barnoldswick, England.

E-bike-specific Pro 5 hub

The Pro 5 E-Bike hub trades outright engagement for strength: an updated 4-pawl ratchet gives 54 points of engagement, the pawls are wire cut from high-strength steel, and a step-down axle design makes for a stiffer, more durable freehub. Hope's zero-drag labyrinth seal keeps dirt out, and the hub is fully serviceable and rebuildable.

Fortus 30 rim

The welded, triple-cavity 6061-T6 aluminium rim has eyelets for spoke-bed strength, a 30mm internal width (35mm external) and a 23mm profile, laced 32-hole J-bend with black Sapim Race double-butted stainless spokes and silver brass nipples.

Compatibility & fit

Suits e-MTB frames with 148 x 12mm Boost rear spacing and a 6-bolt disc rotor. Every freehub option is steel – choose Shimano HG, Shimano Microspline or SRAM XD to match your cassette. Fitting, tubeless set-up and cassette/rotor transfer are separate workshop services – book a workshop service.

Hope covers its components for two years from the original date of purchase against manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship. Damage caused by misuse, or by not following the recommendations in the manual, is not covered. For warranty support, return the item to Tune Cycles with your proof of purchase and we'll manage the claim for you. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
