A VP tapered semi-integrated headset for 1-1/8" to 1.5" steerers, sealed bearings, 28.6 x 44 / 56 x 39.8 mm. A semi-integrated headset uses cups pressed into the head tube with the bearings sitting inside the frame, for a lower stack and a neater look. The headset is the bearing set that lets the fork and bars turn smoothly in the frame. A worn or loose headset shows up as a knock under braking or steering that feels notchy.

Headsets are frame-specific, so check the steerer size and every figure against your frame and fork before ordering. The dimensions are published exactly as the supplier lists them: 28.6 x 44 / 56 x 39.8 mm. The supplier doesn't give an SHIS code, so we haven't listed one. Fitting needs a headset press and a crown race tool.

Grease the bearing seats and the crown race before fitting, and set the preload so the fork turns freely with no play when you rock the bike with the front brake on.
