High-pivot bikes run the chain up and over an idler, which leaves no room for a conventional upper guide. The Zippa LG is a lower-only guide: FUNN's Zippa bash guard backplate with a quiet idler wheel underneath to keep the chain on the ring through rough ground.

How it works

The backplate bolts to your frame's ISCG05 tabs and sits behind the chainring, so the bumper takes rock and root strikes before your ring does. Below it, the idler bracket holds a POM wheel against the lower run of the chain, and its three positions let you line it up on different frame designs. Take the idler bracket off and the Zippa LG works as a plain bash guard.

Choosing a size

Match the guide to your chainring: one size covers 28T to 32T, the other 34T to 36T. Each size keeps the guide close enough to the ring for reliable chain control while keeping it tucked up away from the ground. When the bumper wears out, FUNN's Zippa Spare Bash replaces it.

Compatibility & fit

• Mount: ISCG05 tabs only. There is no BSA bottom bracket adapter for this guide, so check your frame has the three threaded tabs around the drive-side shell
• Single (1x) chainrings, 28–32T or 34–36T depending on size
• The lower idler is not compatible with oval chainrings
• The 28–32T size is not compatible with Deviate frames
• Built for high-pivot bikes; it can suit other bikes if there is enough chain wrap and the idler does not touch the frame
