Small hands need a thinner grip to hold the bar and still reach the brakes. The Hilt JR is FUNN's Hilt grip scaled down for 19mm junior handlebars, with a 26mm outer diameter that young riders can properly wrap their fingers around.

Built for smaller riders

Everything is scaled down from the adult Hilt: 26mm thick instead of 30mm and 115mm long instead of 130mm. The shorter length leaves room for the brake lever and shifter on a narrow junior bar, and the grip pattern works with or without gloves.

Fitting

Lock-on grips need no glue or hairspray. Wipe the bar clean and dry, slide the grip on, line up the clamping ring and tighten the M4 bolt until the grip no longer twists by hand, without overtightening. The bolt has a narrow head shaped to sit flush in the ring, so a generic M4 may not seat properly.

Compatibility & fit

• Handlebars with 19mm grip sections, such as FUNN's Speedrun junior bar
• Will not fit standard 22.2mm adult bars; use the full-size FUNN Hilt instead
• Moving to a bigger bike? Only if its bar is also 19mm, as a 19mm grip will not clamp safely on 22.2mm
• FUNN's separately sold Hilt / Holeshot clamping rings do not fit the Hilt JR
