Smooth, precise steering starts at the headset. The Descend Integral replaces a worn integrated headset in one purchase, with both bearings, the crown race and the headset cap in the box.

Integral fit

On an integral (IS) frame the bearings drop straight into a seat machined into the head tube, with no cup pressed in. That is why the stack height is 0mm at both ends: nothing sits proud of the frame.

IS41 or IS42?

A 41mm and a 42mm upper bearing seat look the same by eye, so measure the bore or check your frame maker's specification before ordering. FUNN also makes this headset with an IS42/28.6 upper; the lower is IS52/40 on both.

Fitting

The bearings drop in, so nothing is pressed into the frame. The crown race does need pressing onto the fork steerer; our workshop can fit the headset and set the crown race as a separate job.

Compatibility & fit

For integral (IS) head tubes with a 41mm upper and 52mm lower bearing seat, and a fork steerer that is 28.6mm at the top bearing and 40mm at the crown race. Spacers are not included.
