Tread and casing

The X-Pack's closely packed tread keeps it fast rolling, while the square-profile blocks give it grip. That tight pattern also makes it harder for sharp objects to work into the casing. Freedom uses a 30 TPI casing, which it says gives better durability and puncture resistance than higher-TPI tyres.

Compatibility & fit

This tyre is sized 700 x 38c. Match it to the size moulded into your current tyre's sidewall: tyres for different wheel diameters aren't interchangeable, and the width needs to suit your rim and frame clearance. It has a folding bead. Freedom doesn't list it as tubeless-ready, so plan to run it with an inner tube. Fitting and puncture repair are workshop services and aren't included in the price.
