Fitting
From Tektro's linear-pull installation instructions: the brake arms mount on the fork and stay pivot bosses. Mounting bolts take a 5 mm Allen key with a final torque of 8-10 Nm; the pads and cable anchor bolt are tightened to 6-8 Nm (5 mm Allen key), and the spring-tension adjusters take a 2 mm Allen key. Tektro notes many suspension forks need 15 mm mounting bolts, while standard forks use 25 mm bolts. Pad-to-rim clearance is set to 1 mm each side. Tektro also advises practising at low speed before normal riding, because of the braking power.
Compatibility & fit
Tektro states its linear-pull brakes must be used with linear-pull brake levers. Your frame or fork needs pivot bosses to mount it.
Brake fitting and adjustment are workshop services and aren't included in the price. Our workshop can fit and set up your brakes.
Tektro offers a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and/or workmanship from the date of original retail purchase. It doesn't cover damage from improper installation, adjustment or maintenance, lack of maintenance, alterations, crashes or excessive use, or normal wear parts such as rubber brake shoes. The warranty applies to the original owner and isn't transferable. This cover is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Keep your proof of purchase. For warranty support, return the product to Tune Cycles and we'll manage the claim with Tektro's Australian distributor.
