This is a Cane Creek 40-Series conversion top: a ZeroStack cup that lets a 1.5in head tube run a 1-1/8in steerer and stem, sold on its own for building up or servicing a headset rather than as a complete set.

Compatibility & fit

S.H.I.S. (the Standardized Headset Identification System) is the code the whole headset industry uses for cup and crown race sizes, written upper | lower — this top is ZS49/28.6, a ZeroStack conversion cup sized for a 49.61mm (1.5in) head tube bore that steps down to a 28.6mm (1-1/8in) stem clamp, 8mm stack height. It is not a tapered-steerer top: it keeps the fork's steerer at a constant 1-1/8in through a larger head tube. Match the head tube bore and steerer diameter to your frame and fork before ordering. If you're not sure which headset standard your frame uses, the Tune workshop can check and fit it.
