This is the bottom half only of a Cane Creek 40-Series headset: the lower cup, bearing and crown race, sold separately for building up or servicing a headset rather than as a complete set. S.H.I.S. (the Standardized Headset Identification System) is the code the whole headset industry uses for cup and crown race sizes, written upper | lower — this bottom assembly is ZS56/40, meaning a ZeroStack (press-in, no visible cup) lower with a 56mm head tube bore and a 40mm crown race for a 1.5in tapered steerer. Match it to your frame and fork by that code, not by looks.

Compatibility & fit

S.H.I.S. ZS56/40: 55.95mm head tube inside diameter, 39.79mm steel face-sealed crown race seat. Fits 1.5in lower head tubes with a tapered (1.5in-to-1-1/8in) fork steerer. Internal parts are cross-compatible with Cane Creek's 10, 40 and 110-Series headsets, but the cup and crown race must still match this S.H.I.S. code. If you're not sure which headset standard your frame uses, the Tune workshop can check and fit it.
