Shadow RD+ stability

The low-profile Shadow RD+ design keeps the derailleur body in tight against the frame, reducing the chance of knocks on the trail or in tight parking. The switchable chain stabiliser adds tension to the cage, calming chain bounce and noise over bumps without making everyday shifts feel heavy.

Smooth, durable CUES shifting

As part of Shimano's CUES U8000 group, the RD-U8020 is engineered for long service life and consistent shifting, including the extra demands of e-bike drivetrains. The 11-tooth guide pulley and 13-tooth tension pulley keep the chain tracking cleanly across the cassette.

Compatibility & fit

Designed for 2x11-speed CUES systems. Works with cassettes from an 11T smallest sprocket up to a 45T largest sprocket, with a maximum front chainring difference of 14T and a total capacity of 48T. Uses a direct-attach (Shimano rear direct mount) interface. Compatible with Shimano 11-speed LINKGLIDE and HG chains (for example CN-LG500, CN-HG601-11, CN-HG701-11, CN-HG901-11). Pair with CUES 11-speed shifters and a matching LINKGLIDE or HG 11-speed cassette for correct indexing.
